Dick Smith Roles Out His Annual Publicity Train

Australia's Top End of Town gives handsomely to charity, unlike Dick Smith however, they seem to do it privately.

That squeaky little man is at it again - this time he's slamming the wealthy in Australia. "appalling and greedy" In what must be seen as Smith's Annual Publicity Stunt - the man's a walking brand - "People who are worth well over a hundred million dollars - for some reason they don't give anything." BOLLOCKS SMITH!

We are so over you and Trixie trying to pull the wool over our eyes. The fact is that Australia's Top End of Town gives handsomely to charity . . . THEY JUST DO IT PRIVATELY

Mr Smith, it's called philanthropy - this annual stunt you do is called publicity and has nothing what so ever to do with charity. Must who are capable of giving do so in a well thought out, quiet manner. Charity!

Bank bosses seem to have been singled out by Smith, who two weeks ago wrote to the chief executives of the nation's Big Four financial institutions urging them to give away a fifth of their income.

Commonwealth CEO Sir Ralph Norris wrote back, telling Smith that "he gives to charity privately."

Not making a lot of sense, Smith told reporters at Sydney's Wayside Chapel"What's disgusting is there are some incredibly wealthy people around, people who are billionaires"

"People who are worth well over a hundred million dollars - for some reason they don't give anything.

"The press release I sent out mentions how our wealthy are appalling and greedy. And that's pretty right."

Shut the F_ck up Smith, the none response has more to do with a lack of respect for you and yours. Tomorrow there will still be homeless and billionaires - the only thing you have achieved is more publicity for Brand SMITH!

A survey by ANRA and American Express has revealed 40 per cent of people will not make a donation this year, compared to 35 per cent in 2009, not a bad result considering the GFC fallout and ongoing financial strains.

Unfortunately we realise the irony of writing this post - wieghing up a FU vs more publicity for the wee man, clearly we chose FU

Quote of the day

"Look at every path closely and deliberately.
Try it as many times as you think necessary.
Then ask yourself alone . . .
Does this path have a heart?
If it does, the path is good - if it doesn't, it is of no use."

Harden the F_ck up Princess!

. . . . is your fridge Killing You ?

Fridges - they are the kitchen appliance of the decade.
Refrigerators have gone from simply being White Goods to a Life statement - they tell the world what sort of person we are. Teflon Coated, iPod Implanted, Stainless Steel or Hidden Away - is your fridge killing you?

It sounds like a relatively simple question right . . . .

Clearly this isn't simple, we're talking about the inside of your fridge and how you abuse it. It's so much fun to fill - takes an entire expedition - absolutely stunning persian fetta sopped in olive oil - gorgeous cured meats from that brilliant delicatessen round the corner, the list is endless. The delights that get into that cold cold space are often temptations that are too hard to resist.

Actually, it's not just what you've filled it with, it also has to do with the way you abuse those temptations, take the for granted.

See we have this theory that food is simply fuel, unless of course your slightly ocd and insist on compensating some emotional lacking with food.

So your getting this ? What we're talking about is a definite leaning toward a sedentary life, being sat in a chair for 45 hours a week - exercising by moving around the home/office. You Got Fat Right !

No Shit Sherlock - walking from the bedroom to the fridge - from the study to the fridge - from the TV room to the fridge, does not constitute exercise! Harden The F_ck up Princess - STOP opening the fridge - you know whats in there - get out of the house, take the dog for a walk, take the kids to the park, do just about anything, just don't keep opening the fridge!

Here are a couple of - hopefully motivating - Death Defying Quotes:

"it's not just your heart that's at risk from too much sitting; your hips, spine, and shoulders could also suffer. In fact, it's not a leap to say that a chair-potato lifestyle can ruin you from head to toe"

"new evidence suggests, in fact, that the more hours a day you sit, the greater your likelihood of dying an earlier death "

"a 2010 study in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that when healthy men limited their number of footsteps by 85 percent for 2 weeks, they experienced a 17 percent decrease in insulin sensitivity, raising their diabetes risk"

"we've done a lot to keep people alive longer, but that doesn't mean we're healthier"

Get out of the house, don't let the fridge kill your ass . . .

Our Julian Free on Bail

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, fighting extradition to Sweden over alleged sex crimes, walked free on bail from a British jail on Thursday protesting his innocence and pledging to continue exposing official secrets.
Assange spoke to a crowd of journalists and supporters waiting in outside the High Court in London five hours after a judge said he could be released on 200,000 pounds ($312,000) bail under stringent conditions.
"It's great to smell fresh air of London again," Assange, illuminated by a blizzard of photographers' flashes, said.
WikiLeaks has angered U.S. authorities by publishing hundreds of a trove of 250,000 U.S. diplomatic cables, including details of overseas installations that Washington regards as vital to its security.
Assange, wearing a dark suit and open-necked white shirt, brandished court papers titled "Swedish Judicial Authority vs Julian Paul Assange." He was then driven away in a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
The 39-year-old Australian later arrived at Ellingham Hall, in Suffolk eastern England, where he must live as a condition of his bail. He spoke to reporters at the mansion that belongs to a former army officer and Assange supporter, Vaughan Smith.
"I continue on with our work. Clearing my name is not the highest task I have. The highest task I have is to continue with my work."
Janice Game, 63, who lives opposite the Georgian house said she had come out to see reporters waiting in the snow for Assange to drive through the gates of the 650 acre estate.
"I do not think that Vaughan would have him at the house unless he believed completely that he was innocent."
Assange has spent nine days in a London jail after Sweden issued an arrest warrant for him over allegations of sexual misconduct made by two female WikiLeaks volunteers. Assange denies the accusations.
Assange told reporters soon after his release that he was more concerned the United States might try to extradite him than he was about being extradited to Sweden.
Assange and his lawyers have voiced fears that U.S. prosecutors might be preparing to indict him for espionage over WikiLeaks' publication of the documents.
"We have a rumor today from my lawyers in the United States, it's not confirmed yet, that there has been an indictment made against me in the United States," Assange said.
The New York Times said on Wednesday federal prosecutors were looking for evidence that he had conspired with a former U.S. Army intelligence analyst suspected of leaking classified documents.
Shortly before Assange's release, his mother Christine, who had flown over from Australia, said she could not wait to see her son and "to hold him close."

Facebook Stalking

New South Wales Police say they take reports of online stalking seriously.
Assistant Commissioner Peter McErlain says they are very keen to get in touch with victims who have been repeatedly threatened on the social networking site Facebook. "Since the advent of social media, there has been a steep increase in the number of complaints"
"We take them all seriously and regardless of whether the threats are communicated in person, over the phone, face to face, or via the email, or I guess in this case via a social networking site,"
"We do everything within our power to investigate these incidents"

This event and several others were reported to NSWPF, not a single thing has been done,

[S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!] continues to this day. While I have made light of this situation - that and the fact that I'm a big burly bloke and simply find

[S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!] annoying, tragic - many less empowered people will suffer because of the entrenched rhetoric and inaction that these situations are viewed with by authorities.

The following transcript is a chat that I had on Facebook, Marina was a random who sent through a friend request. I'd never met Marina prior to this chat!

It's pretty mundane stuff until you get to the end.
Now, to be fair - I suspect that the person Marina I was chatting to WAS

[S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!my stalker - you judge

9.00Me
back to your life, it sounds like an adventure?

9:01amMarina
no
it is a complete boredom
yours sounds a real fairytale

9:03amMe
not sure about fairytale, perhaps a tim burtonish fairytale, it has been an experience
9:03amMarina
tim burton-good

9:04amMe
i haven't become jaded but do keep looking over my shoulder, jittery

9:04amMarina
how do they call it? a kind of a macabre fairytale
too english for me really
or is it star wars-never could understand all the euphory about it

9:05amMe
went to a gallery opening last night, was amazed at how many ppl wanted to hear my tale, so not right
so voyeristic

9:06amMarina
all people have their ow phobias and manias, it is normal

9:07amMe
iso your life is drama less?

9:07amMarina
it is a melodramatic comedy

9:07amMe
it was called High Drama last night

9:08amMarina
what is the meaning?

9:08amMe
i have to be amused, i kind of played along with it for a while
High Drama: like opera

9:08amMarina
so you are an opera singer?

9:09amMe
Not Remotely, a shower singer perhaps

9:09amMarina
what do you sing? metallica?

9:10amMe
your funny!

9.10amMarina
no. you sound funny and even strange. or maybe it is my lack of education to understand australian humour

9:11amMe
strange, now your just being nasty
i don't sing, not publicly.

9:12amMarina
so i just asked what do you sing when taking your shower, privately, i am not nasty, not really

9:13amMe
that was more sarcasm, i realise your not nasty!

9:14amMarina
not sarcasm either, just vital interest
i also sing in the shower

9:15amMe
house ballads are my chosen tunes to choke, i'd hate to think what i really sound like, running water sufficiently drowns out most of my bad sound
and you sing?

9:16amMarina
some love ballads
and i sing when i am drunk

9:17amMe
you enjoy singing drunk?

9:18amMarina
sure
when i am drunk i enjoy lots of stuff i hate when i am sober

9:19amMe
thats a bit dark, sober is good

9:19amMarina
so you do not drink

9:20amMe
i do drink, i don't get drunk though

9:20amMarina
what is the purpose then?

9:20amMe
what do you enjoy when drunk, make me smile
purpose? the mellow feeling of being slightly aloof?

9:22amMarina
soo many words to look for in a dictionary

9:24amMarina
and how do you relax?

9:25amMe
i walk around relaxed, i try not to get stressed ever, works most of the time

9:25amMarina
you must be happy to live and unstressed life

9:28amMe
i haven't ever lived a stressed life so it's hard to compare

9:29amMarina
can i ask what are you? an artist? a creative author? a freelance philosopher?

9:30amMe
i'm a drop in a bucket ,not sure how to answer that

9:31amMarina
ok
is there any answer?

9:32amMe
i don't think so, freelance philosopher sounds neat

9:32amMarina
good, i am happy i could guess

9:33amMe
i think this year i am going to be a student
i am happy that you are happy
what do you most like doing when drunk?

9:33amMarina
we learn when we live
your happiness makes me happy
welll, i like eating a lot, singing, talking to stangers about the sense of life

9:34amMe
most of the time, sometimes though its nice to sit in a room with other ppl that are looking for something

9:35amMarina
are you talking to me?

9:37amMe
yes? you said: we learn when we live, responce was: most of the time . . .
though thats such a good line "are you talking to me"

9:39amMarina
what are these people looking for?

9:43amMe
life i'd think, i suppose watching other ppls confusion is quite soothing for me, gives a perspective, stops me from wanting to save the world-allows me to realise it doesn't want to be saved-is happy being confused

9:44amMarina
yes, it is a kind of self satisfaction of being either confused. or thrilled. you seem not like it but you enjoy it..

9:46amMe
are you still here?

9:46amMarina
sure here
lively gesturing you i am here

9:49amMe
the [S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!] thing disheveled me slightly, the fact that i can't (don't want to either) control someone elses behavior just dictates that i need to be calm, it's not a thought, it's a non-action action

9:50amMarina
non action action sounds very wise and pragmatic
but i was surprised she wrote a message to me. i thought it were you, other you

9:51amMe
pragmatic, you have been digging into that dictionary

9:51amMarina
no, it is an international definition, an easy one

9:52amMe
i'm surprised she found me, didn't think she would look, my disguise it seems was a waste of time, now i'm addicted to my aka too scared to go anyplace near the real me, go figure

9:53amMarina
is there anywhere here a real you?

9:54amMe
this is the real me, i think, my fingers tapping keyboard, my eyes on screen, this is facebook no one on the screen is real real
you are wiser than you let on, i like that a lot

9:55amMarina
there are people on facebook who have several accounts

9:55amMe
humility is my favorite human trait !

9:55amMarina
and i am physically improving my English
you mean you like to humilitate?

9:56amMe
ouch! NO! humility, being humble

9:56amMarina
let me check the dict

9:57amMe
how much show can you put on girl?

9:57amMarina
rrrrright
humility-you like it in you. or in people?

9:57amMe
both

9:57amMarina
so you are humble?

10:02amMarina
So sorry to hear of you and
!

10:02amMe
i am pleased you are improving your english, not sure you should be improving off me though, perhaps not the best example, more chats w [S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!would certainly get you up to speed, HOW IN GODS NAME DID YOU HEAR ABOUT

!

10:02amMarina

[S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!] has been chatting me for 15 minutes, asking about us, she has watched you?

it turns out had been watching this entire chat on facebook, contacted Marina mid way through the chat & started harassing . . .

Next Day

8:38amMe
what was the [S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!] comment the other night, scared the crap out of me!

8:38amMarina
was it you?

8:39amMe
[S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!] is my bunny boiling ex, wonderful woman (just in case shes watching)

8:39amMarina
ok
i am from another part of the world and i do not know either you or your bunny boiling ex

8:40amMe
sighs in relief!

8:40amMarina
but i did not get why she was watching me or you or me or us

8:41amMarina
read information and wall of our correspondent before starting a dialogue
she saw us talking in open
it means she is tracing you

8:41amMe
eeeek

8:41amMarina
you are glad i am back
what is eeeeeeeeeek?

8:41amMe
enough of this, i am very glad your back, had fun
eeek is an I'm afraid sound, like a squeel
You sound (profile) like you have a brilliant life
adventurous

8:43amMarina
but
anyway i understood from her she had something with you
good or bad, something to do with her feelings

8:44amMe
something

8:44amMarina
i might know better and i do not know why she wrote to me

8:47amMe
no relations, if she is stalking that is unfortunate, i have moved cities to make distance between us. i'm sorry she contacted you, she really is a bit lost at the moment

8:48amMarina
do you have common children?

8:49amMe
no thankfully

8:49amMarina
she told you stole her children heart sorry

8:50amMe
i hope your conversation with [S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!] was interesting, not sure how much of what she said is truth or feeling?

8:51amMarina
ok it was not coversation, everything is virtual anyway, and i am not intersted in your relations. i just do not want to be between you as i told you.

8:52amMe
i have a safe distance from [S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!] so i feel quite calm in discussing

8:52amMarina
ok

8:53amMe
as far as i am concerned [S.W.N.I.D.N.M.!] longer exists, i will never in my lifetime see her again, this is a comfort!

8:53amMarina
is it the only thing to comfort you?

8:54amMe
i am completely self contained, don't really need anything, everything i do get is a wonder, a nice experience. so far i haven't sought any other form of comfort!
alex is a little diabolical on this though, hurtful even

8:55amMarina
diabolical sounds challenging

8:56amMe
if i go by her history of badgering others with our woes: she has told you some pretty tall stories

8:56amMarina
no
it was a very short notice you hurt her and her children and tehre were some money issues

8:57amMe
these stories have been told to almost every human i know, family, friends, business acquaintances, now apparently complete strangers: diabolical

8:58amMarina
ok
let her be

8:58amMe
my sentiments precisely, she will work her way through it in her own time
